Hmm, seemed better than most Doze ports to me. Be sure you've checked
the 'Use the scanner driver' box to use the real ScanGear driver; not
the one from MP Navigator EX, which is crappy, in terms of features.
However, both use the same progress windows during the scan.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're doing. The windows you
mentions are only on the screen for a few seconds. Why would you need to
move them? What sort of work are you doing during that time? Can you
actually work during the short time they're displayed?

In your home library prefs is a file,
'jp.co.canon.bj.printer.app.MPNEX104.plist'. If you open it in Property
List Editor, part of the developer package on your 10.5 install disk,
you'll find two entries called 'SimpleWindowsPos' and 'SubindoPos'. I
bet you can alter the window positions here, though I haven't tried it.
This alteration may or may not work with the 'Use the scanner driver'
box both checked and unchecked. Give it a try and let us know what
happens.
You can always try VueScan for free to see if it behaves the way you
want.
